Exercising when pregnant

About Me

Exercising when pregnant

I always loved to exercise every day but when I got pregnant I felt so sick for the first 12 weeks and I couldn't get off the couch. After a while, I started feeling better and I knew I wanted to get back into exercise again, not just for me but also for the baby. This blog has some tips on types of exercise to suit every type of pregnancy, whether you feel great or whether you feel terrible and can hardly move. I hope it inspires other pregnant mamas to get out there and starting exercising more during their pregnancies.

Three Things You Should Absolutely Do When First Joining A New Gym

Joining a gym can be a great step towards a healthier and more active lifestyle, but it can also be overwhelming for someone new to the gym environment. With so many pieces of equipment and different facilities for all sorts of exercises and activities, it can be difficult to know where to start. Luckily, everyone who has ever used a gym to get in shape or to achieve their fitness dream has stood exactly where you are right now, so there is a wealth of knowledge that you can utilize to make your introduction to the gym a little more smooth.

Understand The Layout And Equipment So You Know How To Use Everything

One of the first things you should do when joining a new gym is to familiarize yourself with the layout and equipment. Take a tour of the gym and make note of all the different areas, such as the weight room, cardio area, and stretching zone. Make a list of the types of equipment available and take note of which ones you'd like to try out first. Familiarizing yourself with the layout and equipment will not only help you feel more comfortable but will also ensure that you make the most of your time at the gym.

Establish A Routine And Stick To It

When you've familiarized yourself with the layout and equipment, it's time to get serious and create a routine while also setting some goals. Make a plan for what you want to achieve and when you want to achieve it. Consider what type of workouts you'd like to do and how often you'd like to do them. Having a clear plan and set of goals will help keep you motivated and on track as you work towards your fitness goals. Simply turning up and going to the gym for the gym's sake will be hard to keep up.

Track Your Progress

Finally, it's important to track your progress and celebrate your wins along the way. Keep a log of your workouts and track your progress over time. Celebrate your successes and milestones, no matter how small they may be. This will help keep you motivated and reinforce your commitment to your fitness goals. If you never record what amount of exercise or weights you can do in one session, you will have no idea whether you are getting better or worse. If you aren't progressing as intended, then by noticing this in your logs you can begin to make changes so that you do start to see an improvement.
